Fashionistas take note: MTV is returning to the catwalk. On Tuesday (July 24), MTV announced the return of its iconic fashion series, "House of Style," starting October 9.

Keeping up with the fast-paced and ever-changing world of fashion, the revamped show will be digitally driven primarily on the MTV Style website, but will include crossover content for TV integrations.

The original show, which ran from 1989 to 1999 and was hosted by supermodels Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Molly Simms, gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the fashion industry. While examining the connection between fashion and music, the show gave fans unprecedented accessibility to models and designers.

" ‘House of Style’ is deeply rooted in celebrating and drawing energy from our audience’s mix-and-match love of fashion, music and pop culture," said Dave Sirulnick, executive vice president of MTV News and Docs.

To celebrate the show’s return, MTV is looking back at some the original show’s best moments. The "House of Style" collection has more than 150 clips and thousands of still images from the show’s 78 episodes.

In order to get viewers up to speed on the cultural impact the show had in the ’90s, MTV will air the documentary "House of Style: Music, Models and MTV" on Tuesday, August 7. The documentary will tell the story of the series while celebrating the fashion of the ’90s. In anticipation of that release, MTV has released a sneak peek of the documentary trailer, available on houseofstyle.MTV.com

And that’s not all. The new host and the official "House of Style" muse will be revealed during the red carpet of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards live on September 6.
